Villa Capri

Capri, Italy

Materials & approach

Time is treated as a material in its own right. Weathered plasterwork and classical mouldings meet satin concrete, burnished copper and deep, tactile upholstery. Rather than recreating the past, the design allows antiquity and modernity to coexist, one bearing its scars, the other reflecting its light.

The Dialogue Between Art & Space

Art inhabits the villa as a silent lineage. Ancient busts stand beside contemporary forms, while abstract paintings echo the oxidation of metal and the fading pigments of the architecture. Each piece becomes a bridge between centuries, turning the interior into a living conversation between memory, matter and Mediterranean light.

Villa Capri - Italy

Located in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, this renovated historic villa in Capri embodies the Old Continent at its most refined.

The cracked ceiling mouldings evoke ancient palaces and, though carefully restored, retain the charm of antiquity and the imprint of time upon the materials. This reinterpretation of classical heritage is further expressed through smooth, subtly satin-finished concrete floors, rich velvet and purple fabrics, and patinated copper.

As always, the presence of artworks, including white marble busts of iconic Renaissance figures and a selection of more contemporary paintings—creates a sense of deep cultural richness, revealed through the interior architecture.

The garden, both an extension of and an ode to this unique Mediterranean abundance, offers citrus trees, shade and freshness throughout the long summer days.
