Kick Essentials
New York, USA
Materials & approach
The material palette combines galvanized corrugated metal, raw concrete, exposed mechanical elements, dark steel, and warm timber flooring.
These industrial materials are balanced by precise custom-made displays, integrated lighting, and carefully controlled product presentation. Basketball court markings extend across the wooden floor, reinforcing the project’s sporting identity while guiding movement through the space.
The contrast between rough construction materials and highly curated objects creates an atmosphere that feels both authentic and deliberately composed.
The Dialogue Between Art & Space
Sports culture is reinterpreted through an artistic and architectural lens. Basketball hoops, sneakers, helmets, skateboards, clothing, and everyday urban objects are removed from their original context and transformed into sculptural installations.
The monochromatic wall composition treats familiar objects as an archaeological collection of contemporary street culture, while individual sneakers are elevated on illuminated concrete and metal supports.
Architecture becomes the framework for an evolving exhibition, where product, memory, sport, and urban identity continuously overlap.
Kick Essential - New York City
Located in Manhattan, Kick Essential was conceived as an immersive retail environment where sneaker culture meets the raw energy of the city.
The project transforms the store into a spatial narrative inspired by urban infrastructure, basketball courts, and industrial architecture.
Corrugated metal walls, exposed ventilation ducts, visible structural details, and graphic floor markings create a strong metropolitan identity, while custom displays give each sneaker the presence of a collectible object.
Rather than following a conventional retail layout, the space unfolds as a sequence of visual moments. Sculptural installations, oversized typography, sports equipment, and elevated product displays turn the act of shopping into a more physical and cultural experience.
